The Puerto Rican flag is made of up special symbols that are closely tied to the history of Puerto Rico. On December 22, 1895, the first design of the Puerto Rican flag was made. The flag is made up of three red stripes alternating with two white stripes, and on the left-hand side there is a triangle colored blue with a white star. The three sides of the blue triangle represent the executive, legislative, and judicial parts of the government. The blue represents the sky and the ocean around in Puerto Rico. The three red stripes symbolizes the blood shed by warriors, while white represents liberty, victory, and peace. Lastly, the white represents the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico itself. ​

​Puerto Rico has one of the highest economic growth rates in the world. Puerto Rico has a booming tourist population. In the year 2022, they welcomed around 5.1 million people. That shows that they are a popular landmark destination that many people want to visit. Many people come to see all that Puerto Rico has to offer. Puerto Rico’s agriculture includes plantations, milk, pineapples, and much more! Puerto Rico imports many items from many European countries, including sugarcane, coffee, plantains, bananas, livestock products, and chickens. They import these items because these they can't grow them themselves, so they rely on other countries to provide them those foods. The major exports that they provide to the United States are electronics, computers, and chemicals. The Island’s per capita GPD rate is around $28,500.00 (USD). The Dominican Republic’s GDP per capita is $10,719.00 (USD) and Haiti has a GDP per capita rate of $1,693.07 (USD). Both of these GDP rates show that Puerto Rico has a higher GDP rate than its neighboring countries. Overall, Puerto Rico has a higher GDP per capita rate than many neighboring countries, but they can't grow some of their crops so they rely on countries for this produce.
